Coaching Staff

Aaron Moore HeadshotAaron Moore was hired to join the San Jose State Spartan softball program as an assitant coach in September 2024.

Moore enters his first season in San Jose after spending two seasons at Trinity Christian as the assistant coach responsible for hitting for the Trolls. Prior to Trinity, Moore spent seven seasons as the head coach at Roosevelt University (Ill.) and Morton College (Ill.).

While at Roosevelt (2017-21), Moore led the Lakers to double-digit win totals in each season, including a program-record 37 wins in 2021. In 2021, Moore and his coaching staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year by the CCAC.

During Moore’s second season at the helm for Morton (2022-23), the Panthers recorded their highest win total in nearly 20 seasons.

Moore has additional coaching experience on the travel ball and high school scene as well, where he has collected more than 500 career wins as a head coach. During his time in Illinois, he has coached with the Stateline Fury, Rosemont Bandits and The Mill Fastpitch travel organizations.

Moore, 42, graduated with a degree in Mass Communications from Colorado State University- Pueblo in 2003.

 


Taylor Gilmore PhotoTaylor Gilmore was named assistant coach at SJSU in July of 2024.

Gilmore will begin her coaching career in San Jose after finishing her playing career at Fresno State last season.

While playing at Fresno, Gilmore earned 2024 Mountain West Pitcher of the Year, made 45 appearances in the circle with 21 starts for the Bulldogs last season. She finished the year with a 19-5 record and 2.53 ERA … recorded five saves and two shutouts … pitched 163.0 innings … dished 143 strikeouts. Gilmore limited opposing batters to a .263 batting average and earned NFCA-All-Region honors.

Prior to Fresno, Gilmore spent four seasons with the Rams of Colorado State, where she owned a 13-10 record, made 35 appearances, and logged a 3.07 ERA.
